The Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 has been known to be a very popular graphics card for gamers in the past year. Since its introduction, there were close to no other competing product in the market that comes close to the RTX series, particularly anything that’s RTX 2070 and above. That is not until when AMD released their latest Radeon RX 5700XT graphics card that something is able to come close.
In our test today, we will look at how the RTX 2070 managed to hold up against competition 10 months after its initial launch. More specifically, we have the GALAX GeForce RTX 2070 White Mini 1-Click OC graphics card for our review. How well will this graphics card perform as compared to the new cards from the red camp? Let’s find out.
About the GALAX GeForce RTX 2070 White Mini 1-Click OC
The GALAX 1-Click OC graphics card series should be considered one of the most affordable graphics card in the market. It usually runs at speeds that are identical to the reference cards, but if users wish to further push the performance levels of the card, they can do so with a single click via the provided software. That is where the name comes into the picture, with overclocking being really just as simple.
The GALAX GeForce RTX 2070 White Mini 1-Click OC is definitely unique. Unlike the huge and chunky RTX 2070 graphics card which we have tested previously, we were somewhat surprised to see how compact this card can be. Moreover, to entice system builders who want an all-white system build, this graphics card also comes with a white shroud. Hopefully, such a design does not trade off the cooling capabilities of this graphics card. We will verify this as part of our tests later.
Despite it being a affordable card, GALAX did not scrimp on its quality. There is still a proper heat dissipation system in place. There is a single large piece of heatsink that comes in direct contact with both the GPU as well as the key power components. The GPU even has direct contact with the copper heatpipe for efficient heat dissipation. Moreover, this card also comes with two 80mm fan for proper air circulation throughout the card. Moreover, the GALAX GeForce RTX 2070 White Mini 1-Click OC Graphics Card also comes with a backplate that not only improves the support for the card, but also helps it in completing its white-gray colour scheme.
We can also see that this card takes up exactly two expansion slots. You need not worry too much about it blocking other expansion cards in your system. To many, its accessibility removes the need for any video signal adapters, as it comes with a single Display Port, HDMI port and DVI Port.
The specifications of this card are as follows:

XTREME Tuner Software
The GALAX Xtreme Tuner is the main software that helps to monitor and manage the key vitals of a compatible graphics card. As expected, the software works well with the GALAX GeForce GTX 1660 (1-click OC). With the software, we are able to know the current GPU and memory clocks of the card. You can also set the GPU’s voltage for both the core and memory, so as to further overclock the card.
Furthermore, the software also allows the setting of fan speeds and curve profile, RGB lighting (not applicable for this card). An interesting feature for this particular graphics card is that it supports 1-click OC. With the press of the 1-Click OC button in the GALAX Xtreme Tuner, the graphics card will automatically overclock itself to a preset clock determined by GALAX. Instantly, users will be able to enjoy better performance with their graphics card without the need to meddle with other settings.

Performance Results
Even though the competing AMD graphics card are just out in the market, the RTX 2070 still holds rather well against them. It’s in a situation where the type of games matter, as some games are more optimized to NVIDIA cards, while others, AMD.
In this case, the GALAX GeForce RTX 2070 White Mini 1-Click OC wins some and loses some. The competition between the RTX 2070 and RX 5700XT is really neck to neck. It really depends on which games you play.
However, we do see that most games perform better on the RTX 2070 when it comes to a higher 1440p resolution.
Power Consumption and Temperatures
Interestingly, even though the RTX 2070 is developed with 12nm FinFET technology, while AMD is on 7nm, the RTX 2070 still performs a lot more efficiently than competition. This really shows how well NVIDIA has designed the RTX 2070 series and have made it much more advanced than the new AMD cards. It’s clear that the RTX 2070 had a decisive lead in terms of efficiency.
Also, as expected, with better efficiency also means that the card is going to perform cooler. In both idle and load situations, the GALAX GeForce RTX 2070 White Mini 1-Click OC performed much cooler than the AMD cards in this test. (Do take note that the AMD cards are based on reference blower design)
Conclusion
As of the time of the article, the GALAX GeForce RTX 2070 White Mini 1-Click OC can be found online at S$649. The competing AMD RX 5700 XT’s MSRP is at S$635. Both products are priced extremely competitively and are excellent choices for gamers who want to game at 1440p resolution.
In our opinion, in terms of efficiency and advanced ray tracing features, the RTX 2070 beats these new AMD cards. Also, with the introduction of the new RTX 20series SUPER graphics cards, the RTX 2070 and RTX 2080 will be replaced, and prices are expected to fall. Therefore, if you are in the market looking for a new graphics card, and if the RTX 2o70 is available at a good price, there is no doubt that the RTX 2070 will be the clear choice.
More specifically, the GALAX GeForce RTX 2070 White Mini 1-Click OC, which has been shown to perform well across our tests, should be a good option for your consideration.
