- New PC edition of global hit game PUBG is free-to-play and tailored for gamers in the region
- Beta test version will be available on the Garena platform in Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore
SINGAPORE, 7 February 2019 – Garena and PUBG Corporation (“PUBG Corp.”) today announced that they are joining forces to offer PUBG LITE in five countries across Southeast Asia. From mid-February, the game will be available for download in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Singapore through the Garena platform, as well as on the official PUBG LITE website. It is also now available in Thailand.

PUBG LITE, which is free-to-play, is uniquely designed with gamers in Southeast Asia in mind underlines our collective commitment to addressing of the needs and wants of gamers in this region”, said Jason Ng, Vice President, Strategic Partnerships of Garena.
The game has been adapted from the original PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS (PUBG), and is designed to open up the PUBG experience to more gamers in Southeast Asia. Players who were previously unable to access the game due to the specification requirements will now be able to enjoy the thrill and excitement of this popular title.
PUBG LITE Beta includes the Erangel map – the very first map introduced in PUBG – playable in both first-person perspective and third-person perspective mode, in addition to the training mode available for beginners.
PUBG LITE will be free-to-play through Garena’s and PUBG’s platforms, and will be available for pre-download on 13 February 2019, with the official Beta Test launching on 14 February 2019.
