Surprising everyone on the showroom, ASUS revealed their Project Precog – an all-screen laptop that comes with two displays and no keyboard. Not to mention, this concept idea is actually working with both displays turned on.
What is really interesting is the laptop’s capability to sense where the user’s hands are and position the virtual keyboard as needed. We will have to see whether it works as well as advertised in the coming 2019.
For all the battery enthusiasts, the Precog comes with an AI-powered battery management system. The laptop will aim to keep the battery level at 80%, as batteries tend to degrade faster when it is near full/empty. To do so, it will learn your pattern as well as use your future appointments, charging it only to 100% right before you head for something important. This is one of the rare “AI” features that would actually help users in the long run, instead of merely being gimmicks.
Let us hope that ASUS’s experimentation with their Project Procog is implemented well, as it would be a pretty remarkable laptop.
