The ASUS Zenfone 5, which was announced earlier at MWC 2018, is now available in Singapore. Targeted for the mainstream users who wants the latest smartphone technologies at an affordable price point, the ASUS Zenfone 5 differentiates itself from other smartphones in its category by having an updated design and innovative intelligent features.
To enhance the whole screen viewing experience, the new ASUS Zenfone 5 adopts an all-screen display on its 6.2” screen. This gives it a 90% screen-to-body ratio for bigger and more immersive experience for content consumption. This is coupled with two five-magnet stereo speakers which aims for a complete entertainment experience.
ASUS has also improved the firmware on the new Zenfone 5 series. By using certain artificial intelligent methodologies such as machine learning and neural networks, they were able to attain automation, optimization and enhancement to the phone’s photography, compute performance, power management and display features.
Also, the Zenfone 5 also comes with the 12MP Sony IMX 363 Image sensor which is known to take considerably good photos. This sensor is also found on some of the top flagship phones such as the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S and Mi 6. There is also a secondary camera wide-angle camera for ensure that you can capture photos from a wider perspective.
Of course, thanks to the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset, which promises performance with long battery life, the smartphone will be adequate for everyday use. What’s interesting are the new features that comes with the chipset, such as Bluetooth 5.0, an enhanced Image Signal Processor from previous generation, and high-resolution video recording.
Thankfully, ASUS has still retained the 3.5mm audio jack and MicroSD card expansion slot for the Zenfone 5, so as to entice users who have always been reliant on these features.
