Entering the Future of Employment in a Digital Revolution

Singapore, 21 March 2018     After a
resoundingly successful launch last year, the Action Community for
Entrepreneurship (ACE) will be presenting its second edition of the Startup
Career Fair. The career fair will welcome job seekers and those curious
about startups to experience Singapore’s dynamic startup ecosystem on Tuesday,
27 March 2018 at the JTC LaunchPad @ one-north.

Job seekers
will be delighted to discover numerous job opportunities with some of
Singapore’s most prominent startups and disruptors, More than 65
startups will be offering over 250 full-time, part-time, and
internship positions in sectors such as e-commerce, fintech, and
creative agencies. Students, fresh grads, and PMETs looking for a
mid-career switch can aspire to get engrossed in casual chats with startup
founders, secure interviews on-the-spot, or embark on exclusive tours of the
vibrant offices of startups.

Whether a
young adult or an experienced worker, job-skills mismatch remains a key
challenge in employment. The latest annual labour market report by Singapore’s
Ministry of Manpower revealed a gap between demands of the job market and the
individuals’ job skills. As such, the career fair has scheduled a line-up of
talks focusing on this critical issue:

·       ‘Reskill and Upskill – Key traits of
an Industry Transformation Leader’ will host industry transformation
experts on what it takes to excel in a tight economy.

·       Elevating one’s career prospects with a
valuable head-start via work-study programmes takes the spotlight in ‘Regional
Talent Crush vs Local Talent Crunch’, supporting fresh polytechnic and ITE
graduates’ transition into the workforce.

·       ‘Re-Thinking About the Future of
Employment’ and the SkillsFuture Advice Workshop address the changing
trends of employment, and the ‘whys’ and ‘hows’ of planning diligently for the
years ahead.

The Startup
Career Fair 2018 is organised by the Action Community for Entrepreneurship
(ACE), and supported by the Employment and Employability Institute (e2i) and
JTC. The community partner for this event is Startup Jobs Asia.
