November 2017 – Samsung Electronics Singapore today introduced the latest
innovation in Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, the Samsung Connect Home
and Samsung Connect Home Pro – an all-in-one solution that provides both whole
home Wi-Fi® and smart home connectivity with one of the richest
smart home device ecosystem in the market. Singapore will be the first country,
apart from the US, to offer the Samsung Connect Home device, which was
showcased today at a launch event held at Orchard Scotts Residences by Far East
Hospitality. Media were given a first hand look at the Samsung Connect Home in
action in a full-home setup in one of Orchard Scotts Residences’ serviced
apartments in a partnership with Far East Hospitality, allowing them to
experience the full capabilities of the latest IoT device by Samsung.

Each Samsung Connect Home device is an incredibly powerful
solution to removing blind spots for WiFi® coverage within the home,
with each router having a range of up to 1,500 square feet. Users can increase
their coverage to up to 7,500 square feet with the use of five routers, which
work together in tandem to create a single Wi-Fi® network that make Wi-Fi® calls or video streams smooth while moving about the
home.

The Samsung Connect Home and Connect Home Pro not only
functions as a mesh Wi-Fi®
system, but also works as a SmartThings Hub, making it compatible with locally
certified Works with SmartThings devices and Samsung appliances1.
The integration of the SmartThings platform and the Samsung Connect Home device
allows users to utilize it to its fullest potential, creating a smart home of
interconnected devices and appliances. Samsung SmartThings makes it easy to
automate and manage one’s smart home ecosystem, thanks to the Samsung Connect
app, which gives consumers the flexibility and convenience to control their
smart home easily at the touch of a button or through voice recognition with
Bixby, the intelligent personal voice assistant.

Safety and security has always been a valued concern to
Samsung and consumers can rest easy knowing that Samsung Connect Home is
protected with powerful security solutions, delivering top-class security. It
is protected by Samsung Knox, which provides defence-grade security at the
hardware and software layers, allowing users to monitor and block out
unauthorised external access. Automatic firmware updates provide additional
safeguards to keep their home network and all their connected smart devices
secure.

Samsung Connect Home can be set up with easy-to-follow
instructions using the Samsung Connect app. Also, users can easily see and
manage connected devices, set parental controls and allow guest access.

Samsung Connect Home and Connect Home Pro boast a simple, sleek and compact
design that can be placed anywhere and everywhere within the home, even in
plain sight.

Consumers
who head down to SITEX 2017 happening this week from 23 November to 26 November
will have a chance to experience the Samsung Connect Home in action. With a
full smart home setup available at Samsung’s booth, visitors will be able to go
on fully guided tours to understand the capabilities of Samsung Connect Home as
a SmartThings platform and how it interacts with other smart devices.

With a
Samsung Connect Expect counter set up at Samsung’s booth, consumers will also
be given free smart home consultations, answering all queries they may have on

The Samsung Connect Home and Samsung Connect Home Pro will
be available from 23 November 2017
at a recommended retail price of $198 and $298 respectively. Official telco
partner Singtel, Singapore’s leading fibre broadband service provider, will
make Samsung Connect Home and Samsung Connect Home Pro available to new and
existing fibre broadband customers for purchase. Packages include:

Consumers who purchase a Samsung Connect Home or Samsung
Connect Home Pro will be given a one plus one-year warranty for the device,
which is only available for devices bought in Singapore. The Samsung Connect
Home and Samsung Connect Home Pro will be available for purchase at SITEX 2017,
all major consumer electronic stores and Singtel outlets.
