Singapore – 19 October, 2017 – If
you thought that coding was only for a select few or those in the technology
space, think again. CA Technologies hosted 23 children aged four to
six from underprivileged families to a fun learning experience at a workshop at
the coding school, Saturday Kids. More than 30 CA volunteers
were on-site with the school’s instructors to assist the eager kids from Beyond
Social Services, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping young
people from less privileged backgrounds.

The children
participated in two modules – Bee-Bot, a tool designed to help
develop math and programming skills including drawing basic shapes using
commands; and Scratch Jr, where they were introduced to the
programming environment using movements and loops, animations and basic
sequences.

this workshop for kids from disadvantaged backgrounds. We hope that this
experience will help them develop an appreciation for technology and coding,

enriching impact by expanding their choices for educational courses and careers
