Data centre development and additional staff to meet local customer needsRetarus expands Singapore data centre to boost Asia-Pacific growth
SINGAPORE, 21 November 2016 – The Retarus Group continues on its impressive growth trajectory in Asia. As the APAC market continues to be significantly important to Retarus, new additions to staff and data centre developments have been added to support growing sales and operations as well as to meet local customer requirements.
Retarus is expanding its data centre in Singapore to provide its growing customer base in the country with even better performance. The global provider of messaging services will use the data centre to provide a direct connection for its Cloud Fax Services to local carriers and internet service providers. With immediate effect, APAC region customers benefit from significantly lower latency times than would be possible from data centres in Europe or the US. As a result of the expansion, Retarus now enables European and American companies to profit from more efficient and dependable communication with their Asian subsidiaries. All data will be processed locally in accordance with the applicable regulations and data privacy requirements.

Retarus exclusively uses and operates its own equipment, which it operates itself. In order to achieve the ultimate levels of security for sensitive data, the company relies on a multilevel physical security concept. The data centre is also equipped with a failsafe power supply.
Local presence enables maximum performanceIn the last few months, Retarus has continuously strengthened its commitment to the Asia Pacific region and significantly enlarged its local sales, service and technology team.
“Increasing our headcount allows us to focus more closely on the needs of local businesses,” explains Oliver Prevrhal, Managing Director Retarus Asia. “Through the ongoing growth of our Global Delivery Network, we also open up the Asian market for European and American companies with international sites. In this way, companies including banks, insurers, healthcare and manufacturing companies with local sites or subsidiaries, where security of data is of utmost priority, can benefit from the remarkably reliable and speedy performance of Retarus’ services as well as the ultimate in service quality. The local processing of data enables businesses to comply with local auditing requirements and regulations, while ensuring that the transmitted data is kept secure at all times.”
International corporations benefit from global flexibility
Retarus’ Global Delivery Network also comprises data centres in Europe and the USA, in addition to the data centre in Singapore. All of the data centres are operated according to the same high security standards. The decision regarding where its data is to be processed is basically left up to the customer, and contractually guaranteed by Retarus. The security level also meets applicable local regulations and sector-specific requirements, such as the Singapore Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA), the American Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), EU Directive EU95/46 or the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).
