NEC Asia Pacific brings festive joy to needy communities and families
-NEC participates in food distribution programme with Food From The Heart-
Singapore, 4 January 2016 – In the spirit of giving, NEC Asia Pacific partnered with Food From The Heart (FFTH) to run its food distribution programme on 21 December 2015. FFTH is a non-profit voluntary food distribution programme under a registered charity organisation in Singapore.
Employees from NEC Asia Pacific packed a total of 120 food goodie bags, containing essential food items such as instant noodles, milo, biscuits and canned foods which would make a difference for many households under this programme. Mr Lim Kok Quee, Managing Director of NEC Asia Pacific led the volunteer team, consisting of over 30 employees, in the food goodie bags’ packing. These food goodie bags were then distributed to needy communities and families in Singapore via FFTH’s self-collection points.
NEC Asia Pacific previously held its “Make-a-Difference-Drive”* drive in August, which saw employees generously donating and deliver food items to FFTH.
“We are thankful to NEC’s staff and management volunteers for partnering with us in our journey to serve the underprivileged community. NEC has truly embraced the spirit of giving and sharing by not only organising a food drive, but also packing and participating in our food goodie bags distribution at our self-collection centres. They have also visited the beneficiaries at their homes. We are certainly looking forward to future opportunities to cooperate with NEC,” said Mr Anson Quek, Executive Director, Food From The Heart.
“We hope that the food delivered would help provide the beneficiaries and their families with healthy meals, giving them hope and joy during this festive season. At NEC, we strongly support our local communities and will continue to give back to society through meaningful activities in the future,” said Mr Lim Kok Quee, Managing Director, NEC Asia Pacific.

(*) NEC Make-a-Difference Drive (MDD) is the activity to contribute to local communities by NEC Group employees worldwide.
