Singapore, 9 September 2015 – NEC Asia Pacific recently held its “NEC Make-a-Difference-Drive*” food donation drive on 3-19 August 2015 whereby employees generously donated food items to Food From The Heart (FFTH), a registered non-profit organisation involving food distribution programme across Singapore. The food items were delivered on 31 August 2015 to FFTH.
The various food items donated include 360 packets of rice, 180 bottles of oil, 780 canned foods and 500 packs of instant noodles. To show his strong support for the event, Mr Lim Kok Quee, Managing Director of NEC Asia Pacific led the volunteer team, a total of 16 cars and 42 employees, to transport the food items to the FFTH office.
The food donation drive was held in partnership with Food From The Heart (FFTH). The food collected will benefit more than 1800 communities and families registered with FFTH, many of whom are often struggling to feed a family with children.
“Food from the Heart is indeed very grateful to NEC for their participation in partnering us to assist the under privileged within our community. It is very heartwarming to see the amount of food supplies donated by NEC’s management and staff. These food supplies will certainly go a long way in alleviating the financial burden of these families and individuals.” said Mr Anson Quek, Executive Director, Food from the Heart.
“As a socially responsible company, we are pleased to partner with FFTH to organize this food donation drive because NEC believes in contributing and giving back to the society. We hope that the food items donated will make a difference and help those families in need,” said Mr Lim Kok Quee, Managing Director, NEC Asia Pacific.
