The ASUS RT-AC87U is the fastest Wireless AC Router we’ve seen so far. It is the world’s first Wireless router with a 4-stream multi-user MIMO antenna design that promises the best range and coverage. As compared to previous 3 antenna designs, the RT-AC87U is to said to performance 33% better. As an AC2400 class router, this piece of networking art also has the capabilities to reach 1734Mbps on the 5GHz band. That’s also a third faster than previous AC1900 wireless routers. In case you did not realise, it’s in fact faster than a usual wired connection at 1Gbps! *mind blown*
Design and Aesthetics

ASUS has made it easy to turn off all LED lights on the router with a dedicated button. Forget about the annoying LED light that’s affecting your sleep. It is now possible to switch it off with a simple press of a button. This is the same for the Wi-Fi swtich. You can disconnect/connect the wireless connection of your router with the button as well.
Nicely hidden under the dust cover is a USB 3.0 port. The cover not only prevent dust from going into the USB port, it also gives the router a complete and streamlined look from the front.
Setting Up
Upon first use of the router, the web browser will open up with the initial settings of the RT-AC87U router. The simple “run through” setup from the router will guide you with the setup process in seconds. Simply setup the web portal username and password, then the Wi-Fi SSID and authentication settings. You’re ready to go once that is done! Additionally, the router is made to be compatible with all major Internet Service Providers in Singapore. You will be sure that this router will definitely work!
