The Official Projector Partner for the Arts House 10th Anniversary programmes, an outdoor multimedia projection showcase will be held as part of the anchor show on 26 March, and throughout the celebrations till 6 April.
The outdoor multimedia projection show is developed in collaboration with CAKE Theatrical Productions, a contemporary theatre company in Singapore, and local multimedia artist Brian Gothong Tan, known for his cutting-edge and highly engaging works in theatre, film and installation art. The result is an immersive integration of visual imagery and dance, backed by 16 Epson high-lumens commercial projectors.
The show is in line with Epson’s twin efforts to challenge traditional boundaries with the latest technology and support the local arts and design scenes. Projectors used range from 8,000 – 10,000 lumens, including the EB-Z10000, Epson’s first ultra-bright 10,000 lumens projectors, as well as the EB-Z8150, EB-Z8450WU and EB-Z8350W. In addition to equipment loan, Epson worked closely with the partners behind-the-scenes to calibrate the projections for the surfaces, as well as to changing weather conditions.
“Façade projections in the Singapore arts scene are a rising trend and they are very well-received by Singaporeans. Epson is renowned for its projection technology and has been very supportive of the arts. They have worked closely with our operations team and the artists to perfect the projections on our façade. The use of technology offers audiences a new and novel experience for them to interact with the arts, and we hope that this multimedia light installation, will engage and excite the Singapore audiences in literature, by presenting this genre in new light,” said Mr. William Phuan, Director, The Arts House.
Said Ms Tan May Lin, General Manager, Epson Singapore (Sales Division), “2014 marks Epson’s 25th anniversary of the inception of our 3LCD projector technology. Coincidentally, the Arts House celebrates its 10th Anniversary too this year.
