Acer has published a press release on their latest C720 Chromebook which is equipped with the latest Intel Haswell processor.
According to Acer, the new Chromebook was launched yesterday and will be priced at a starting price of 249.99 USD (312SGD). The new C720 Chromebook will be powered using Intel Haswell architecture based 1.4GHz Celeron processor. This gives unprecedented performance for the amount of performance it provides. It will equipped with 4GB of RAM and a 16GB SSD. It only takes 7 seconds for it to boot and has a battery life of up to 8.5 hours per charge.
C720 is the first Chromebook with the new Haswell processor. Compared to the previous Chromebook from Acer, C720 is thinner by 30% at a thickness of only 1.9cm and it weighs around 1.25kg. It has a 11.6inch non-glare display with a resolution of 1366 x 768.
Acer C720 is also built in with a HD webcam, microphone and stereo speakers so that users can easily connect to Google Hangout. There are also both USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports, a SD Card reader and a HDMI output, allowing users to put the Chromebook to various usage scenarios.
