While many may think that they may not get the full experience of Google Maps on iOS, the launched application is rather complete. It supports street view, transit directions and even Turn-by-Turn navigation.
Apple removed Google maps integration into its iOS devices with the launch of iOS6 operating system and included their own map service. However, because of the immaturity of the service, Apple received many complains and eventually, Apple CEO Tim Cook was made to apologize and 2 executives from Apple’s mapping service group was forced to leave the company because of the defects of the service, tarnishing the reliability of the Apple branding.
Currently, the Apple Maps do not have functions like Street View and actual traffic directions. The new Google Maps application will cover the users who need these features badly. Although if consumers are losing confidence in bitten apple, the green humanoid robot is opening its arms wide to hug you with lots of love.
