Google is rolling out a set of shopping-focused responses in Gemini for users in Singapore, timed for the 11.11 sale period. The update is designed to keep product discovery, comparison and availability checks inside a Gemini conversation.

Google says the features are available to all Gemini users in Singapore. They cover five main types of information: shoppable product listings, summaries of product reviews, comparison tables, pricing details and inventory availability.

Shopping prompts can begin with broad requirements

Users can ask for ideas using a budget and a short description of the intended recipient or use case. One example supplied by Google asks Gemini to find gifts under S$70 for a technology enthusiast, with the response presented as a carousel of shoppable images.

This does not turn every result into an independent recommendation. Listings, prices and availability may change, and users should still check the retailer, seller, warranty terms and final checkout price before buying.

Reviews and specifications are brought together

For review-related prompts, Google says Gemini can compile information from multiple sources and organise it around relevant evaluation criteria. It can also create comparison tables that place product specifications side by side.

The campaign demonstration uses a request to compare best-selling wireless mice under US$30 for office use. The resulting presentation is intended to reduce the need to manually collect specifications from separate pages.

Pricing and inventory checks target fast-moving sales

Gemini can also respond to prompts about the best price available across platforms and whether a particular variant remains in stock. Google illustrates the latter with a request for colourways of the New Balance 530 that remain available in EU size 37 on the official website.

These answers depend on the freshness and accuracy of the underlying sources. A product shown as available can sell out before checkout, while vouchers, delivery fees, membership prices and marketplace seller differences may affect which option is genuinely cheapest.

The Shopping Graph provides the underlying product data

Google says the new responses are powered by its Shopping Graph, which contains more than 50 billion product listings. The company claims that about two billion listings are updated every hour.

Those figures are supplied by Google and have not been independently audited for this article. The release also does not detail how Gemini ranks sellers, resolves conflicting review information or handles sponsored and marketplace listings in every response.

Availability in Singapore

The shopping responses are available to Gemini users in Singapore. Google has not announced a separate charge for the features in the supplied release, although access to Gemini models and functions can still vary by account, product tier and service availability.

More information about Google's shopping technology is available from the official Google Shopping blog.
