Huawei Cloud launches CodeArts Agent in Singapore with 16 specialised AI agents

Huawei Cloud’s new coding platform combines 16 specialised agents across requirements, architecture, coding, testing and review, with an Early Bird Program for eligible Singapore enterprises.

Huawei Cloud has commercially launched CodeArts Agent in Singapore, positioning the AI-assisted development platform as a set of specialised agents that can work across the software development lifecycle.

The company introduced the product at Huawei Cloud AI Boost Day Singapore on 28 August 2026. According to Huawei Cloud, CodeArts Agent combines code models, development-environment tools and autonomous workflows to support requirements analysis, architecture design, coding, testing, issue resolution and code review.

A team of 16 specialised development agents

The platform’s Agent Team feature comprises 16 agents assigned to different engineering activities. Huawei Cloud says they can collaborate on complex, longer-running tasks by planning work and passing it between stages in a manner intended to resemble a software-engineering team.

CodeArts Agent also supports more conventional AI coding functions, including code generation, development-related questions and answers, and automated unit-test generation. Its interfaces include AI-native integrated development environments, plugins, and command-line or terminal user interfaces, giving organisations several ways to connect the service to existing workflows.

Huawei Cloud says the system incorporates specification-driven development and more than 30 reusable engineering skills derived from its internal software practices. It also claims the platform can understand and retrieve code across repositories containing tens of millions of lines, providing project-level context for incremental work on large existing systems.

These scale and productivity statements are vendor claims. Huawei Cloud did not provide independent benchmark results, supported-language details or a technical explanation of how its “tens of millions of lines” figure was measured in the supplied announcement. TTR has not tested CodeArts Agent.

Enterprise controls will matter as much as code generation

For organisations considering agentic development tools, the ability to generate code is only part of the evaluation. Access controls, data residency, source-code retention, model training policies, audit logs and the handling of third-party dependencies can determine whether a service is suitable for regulated or proprietary projects.

Huawei Cloud says CodeArts Agent includes enterprise management and security capabilities, but the Singapore launch materials do not set out detailed configurations, certifications or service-level terms. Prospective users should review the applicable product documentation and contract terms before connecting confidential repositories or allowing agents to execute development tasks.

Tim Tao, President of Huawei Cloud Solution Sales, said the company plans to expand its agent products and services in Singapore and the wider Asia-Pacific region. He placed CodeArts Agent within a broader stack covering AI data centres, agent infrastructure, Model as a Service and agent-development platforms.

Three-month Professional Edition offer for eligible enterprises

Huawei Cloud also announced a Singapore CodeArts Agent Early Bird Program. Eligible enterprise users can receive three months of complimentary access to the Professional Edition, alongside one-to-one coaching from local specialists and enablement services for organisations establishing AI-assisted software-development practices.

The announcement does not specify the programme’s application deadline, eligibility criteria, usage limits or pricing after the complimentary period. Interested organisations should confirm those details directly with Huawei Cloud before enrolling.

The launch adds Huawei Cloud to the growing field of providers moving beyond code completion towards agent-based systems designed to plan and execute multi-step engineering work. How CodeArts Agent compares in code quality, security, cost and developer oversight will require independent testing under real project conditions.
