ROG Singapore has announced they will be bringing in the long-awaited ROG Xbox Ally series of handheld gaming PCs to the local market starting next month.
We’ll see the ROG Xbox Ally and the more powerful ROG Xbox Ally X launching on October 17, 2025, but if you want to try them before release, ROG is setting up an experiential event at VivoCity, Level 1 Central Court 3, running from October 7 to 12.
The base ROG Xbox Ally comes with a Ryzen Z2 A processor built on four Zen 2 cores, eight RDNA 2 GPU cores, 16GB of LPDDR5X-6400 RAM, a 512GB SSD, and a 60Wh battery to keep things running. But the Ally X really raises the bar, packing the Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme with eight Zen 5 cores, 16 RDNA 3.5 GPU cores, and an integrated NPU. On top of that, it offers 24GB of faster LPDDR5X-8000 RAM, a 1TB SSD, and a bigger 80Wh battery for longer sessions.
To make it a completely different class than the stnadard Ally lineup, Xbox has been working with studios through its new Handheld Compatibility Program, which ensures thousands of PC titles are optimized for handheld play. Games will come with “Handheld Optimized” or “Mostly Compatible” badges, so you’ll know right away if they’re ready to go. Plus, a new shader delivery system will let supported games launch up to 10x faster while saving battery life.
The Ally X also unlocks some AI-driven perks thanks to its built-in NPU, with features like Auto Super Resolution for sharper visuals and highlight reels that automatically capture epic gameplay moments. These will start rolling out next year.
Price
The standard ROG Xbox Ally will go for SG$799 while the ROG Xbox Ally X lands at SG$1,299, with preorders already live right now and is available through October 16, with gifts thrown in – a SLASH Sling Bag 4.0 for Ally X buyers and a Premium Case for those who go for the Ally, while stocks last.
