Jabra is expanding its video collaboration portfolio with the launch of the PanaCast 40 VBS, an Android-powered video bar purpose-built for small meeting rooms. Announced as a more compact sibling to the PanaCast 50 VBS, the new model is engineered to address the growing need for high-quality video solutions in huddle rooms and small office spaces.
According to Jabra’s 2025 survey, 94% of employees regularly use small meeting spaces, and 73% say these rooms enhance collaboration—yet less than 3% of huddle rooms globally are equipped with video conferencing technology. This gap in adoption presents a significant opportunity, especially as hybrid work models continue to evolve and decentralised collaboration becomes standard practice.
The PanaCast 40 VBS aims to fill that void with a feature set tailored for high-performance in compact environments. It features a dual-camera system with a 180° field of view, powered by advanced stitching technology to ensure no one is left out of frame, even in tight spaces. Audio quality is equally prioritized with six beamforming microphones, a single speaker, and intelligent algorithms that enhance voice clarity, key for ensuring remote participants remain fully engaged.
Usability is a central design focus. The PanaCast 40 VBS supports plug-and-play setup, shares key accessories with its medium-room counterpart (PanaCast 50 VBS), and introduces provisioning directly from the box, reducing time-to-deploy for IT teams. The system also supports Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and BYOD configurations, while its Android-native architecture simplifies integration and long-term management.
For administrators and facilities managers, the device is manageable via Jabra+, ensuring updates and diagnostics are consistently up to date. The inclusion of features like a detachable faceplate, touch controller support, and ADA compliance further future-proofs the offering.
