Getting your hands on the latest NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 is proving to be quite a challenge. These GPUs come with hefty price tags and are in extremely limited supply, largely due to scalpers and other market factors. But what about their availability on NVIDIA’s cloud gaming platform, GeForce NOW? While the company hasn’t ruled it out, the platform itself is currently in a somewhat stalled state despite remaining operational.
According to an official post on NVIDIA’s Reddit by user u/NV_Cory, the company is in the process of transitioning to a new payment service, which has led to a temporary halt on new subscriptions and applications for GeForce NOW. While a 1-day Pass will be reinstated first for easier access, monthly and biannual plans are expected to take much longer to return, with no concrete timeline provided.
The pinned comment clarified that Digital River, the company handling GeForce NOW’s payment system, is ceasing operations. In response, NVIDIA has decided to waive all charges for existing subscribers starting January 31, ensuring their accounts remain active without incurring costs. However, new users are currently unable to sign up, effectively making GeForce NOW a “members-only club” for the time being.
