MSI has begun rolling out the final BIOS update to resolve issues with Intel’s Arrow Lake CPUs on the Z890 platform.
Currently, the MEG Z890 ACE is the only model with the BIOS update listed on MSI’s website. This update, identified as “7E22v1A41,” includes Intel’s 0x114 microcode and updated CSME firmware, addressing platform inconsistencies and delivering performance enhancements.
Intel previously acknowledged performance inconsistencies at Arrow Lake’s launch and traced the issues to root causes that have now been largely resolved. A recent update outlined Intel’s commitment to a full resolution via a BIOS patch, pairing the 0x114 microcode with CSME Firmware Kit 19.0.0.1854v2.2 or newer. Intel emphasized that both the BIOS and CSME Firmware Kit must be paired to achieve a comprehensive fix.
The updated BIOS for the MSI MEG Z890 ACE complies with Intel PR5 standards, improving gaming performance with an estimated single-digit uplift across 35 titles. MSI simplifies the process for users by bundling both the microcode and CSME firmware in the official BIOS, eliminating the need for separate downloads.
With CES 2025 around the corner, Intel plans to unveil the mid-range B860 and H810 motherboards alongside non-unlocked Arrow Lake CPUs. Gamers building systems with these components can expect a trouble-free experience, as these updates address the previously reported issues.
