IP Bridge, Orange, Siemens and Xiaomi, a leading consumer electronics and manufacturing company, have announced the resolution of their long-standing patent disputes through a licensing transaction. This transaction allows for efficient licensing of patent rights across various technologies from the companies to Xiaomi.
Novus IP, a company led by Paul Lin, a former Head of IP Strategy at Xiaomi, acted as a facilitator in the deal and helped the parties involved successfully complete the transaction in an efficient manner.
“We continue to explore complementary licensing models to the traditional patent pool and bilateral models in order to avoid time consuming disputes and to focus on innovation.” said Ran Xu, General Manager of Global Business Development and IP Strategy, Xiaomi Group. “This unique transaction structure lets Xiaomi customers enjoy benefits of inventions from 3 companies, efficiently.”

The licensing agreement with Xiaomi acknowledges Orange’s strong innovations and its contribution to open standards, which have enabled a more efficient digital transformation and the widespread adoption of key technologies for the benefit of consumers.
