The first edition of the Six Major, a new annual rendezvous, concluded last night with an impressive victory from favorites G2 Esports
Hong Kong — August 21, 2018 — Today, Ubisoft® announced that the Six Major Paris, the largest Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six® esports event ever organized in Europe, has cemented the Six Majors series as a new thrilling rendezvous point for the title’s burgeoning competitive scene, thanks to epic matches and key announcements.
The Six Major Paris has been the perfect proof of the Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six esports scene latest evolution: it showcased maturity with the introduction of new prestigious organizations, such as G2 Esports or Team Secret, as well as a globally increased level with four Pro League regions flexing their muscles – even though historic regions (Europe and North America) made the most of their experience to secure the Semi-Finals spots. The Six Major Paris was broadcast in 13 languages across 57 distinct stream channels, reuniting more than 2000 fans from France and beyond at Paris Expo – Porte de Versailles.
The Paris Major concluded in a dramatic rematch of the teams from the Six Invitational 2018 finale, with favorites G2 Esports (previously competing under the PENTA Sports name) reconfirming their status as World Champions with an indisputable 3-0 (6-2, 6-2, 6-2) victory, and adding the Major Champions line to their already dense curriculum. The European team led by captain ‘Fabian’ Hällsten and the impressive latest recruit Juhani “Kantoraketti” Toivonen dominated what is considered the best North American team, Evil Geniuses.
The Six Major Paris brought together the sixteen best Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six teams from across the world, competing for a USD $350,000.

The Six Major Paris also hosted key announcements for Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six fans. The Pilot Program team skins have notably been unveiled for the first time and will allow fans to support their favorite teams thanks to this revenue-share initiative led by Ubisoft. First skins to be available with the Grim Sky update.
Fully revealed during the event with a dedicated panel right before the Six Major Paris Grand Final, Operation Grim Sky will unravel the fan-favorite reworked map Hereford, with two new operators: defender Clash and attacker Maverick, along many buffs and updates.
The Test Server for Operation Grim Sky will go live today, August 20. The Test Server is an alternative version of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, allowing players to test upcoming gameplay features that will make their way into the main game itself. Since this is a testing environment, a consistent gameplay experience is not guaranteed on the Test Server. Players are invited to submit the issues they encounter on the Test Server on the R6 Fix platform [link to https://r6fix.ubi.com/]. The Test Server is exclusive to Windows PC.
