Just when we thought photography with the Pixel 2 XL can’t get better, Google is launching the Pixel Visual Core, a custom designed co-processor that incorporates the technology of the world’s best smartphone camera directly into your favourite photography and social media apps.
Using computational photography and machine learning, the Pixel Visual Core improves image quality in these apps, allowing you to shoot and post these double-tap-worthy photos on Instagram, WhatsApp and Snapchat directly. All you need to do is snap a photo and the Pixel 2 XL will do the magic making your photos brighter, more detailed and clearer all at one go!
Later this week, Google is also adding new Augmented Reality (AR) Stickers themed around winter sports, providing more fun options for users to dress up videos and photos with freestyle skiers, twirling ice skaters, hockey players, and many more. This creates a fun-filled way to snap away on your camera and share memories with family and friends.
