Schneider Electric Introduces Configurable Glass Touch Panels to Provide Intuitive Control of Hotel Rooms
· Touch screen devices improve guest comfort while providing hotel owners and designers with a customizable display to enhance aesthetic appeal
Singapore – December 15, 2017 – Schneider Electric, the leader in digital transformation of energy management and automation, today announced the availability of a series of Glass Touch Panels that enable hotels to enhance the guest experience through improved comfort and aesthetics. The wall-mounted panels enable guests to instantly adjust room lighting, temperature, curtains, entertainment systems and maid service via an intuitive touch screen device, creating a hotel experience that is customized to each guest’s comfort and needs.
The Glass Touch Panels connect to Schneider Electric’s Hotel Room Controller, a control device designed with enhanced logic for hotel-specific applications including temperature, lighting, curtain control, room scenes and maid service, and integrates with door lock, property management systems and other hotel systems via EcoStruxure™ Guest Room Expert. This gives hotel operators visibility and control of all rooms throughout the hotel to drive energy efficiency and troubleshoot maintenance issues. Schneider Electric’s Glass Touch Panels can also integrate with third party room controllers via the Modbus communications protocol.
“Today’s hotel guests expect a modern, contemporary experience when they stay away from home,” said Shovan Sengupta, Global Hotel Segment Leader, Schneider Electric. “Our new Glass Touch Panels provide hotel guests with an elegant touch interface to easily control their room’s comfort, entertainment and service capabilities at their fingertips, creating an inviting environment and best-in-class guest experience.”
Schneider Electric’s Glass Touch Panels are highly customizable based on the needs of an individual hotel and can include up to 12 functionality buttons. The panels are easy to design and configure with a user-friendly web tool that allows hotel owners and operators to preview their customized panel prior to ordering. The Glass Touch Panels are available in a variety of glass color and backlight options to reflect a hotel’s unique visual aesthetic. Hotels may also include a customized logo on each panel.
In addition to the in-room panel, a dual panel can be installed outside of the room to alert hotel staff if maid service is needed or if a guest has requested to not be disturbed. Other optional features include a key card holder that automatically turns off lighting, temperature and entertainment systems when a guest’s key card is removed, helping hotels reduce energy consumption in unoccupied rooms to drive energy savings.
The Glass Touch Panels are part of Schneider Electric’s Full Service & Luxury Integrated Guest Room Management Solution delivered by EcoStruxure™ for Hotels, which increases guest comfort and control while improving operations and reducing costs through occupancy-based energy management.
