- Partnership takes aim at Hong Kong and broader APAC cloud market: Hong Kong was voted as the world’s most “cloud-ready” market of 2016 by Asia Cloud Computing Association, with public cloud spending expected to reach US$685 million by 2017; according to IDC – a huge untapped opportunity
SINGAPORE, 27 June 2016 – Datapipe, a leading provider of managed hosting and cloud services for the enterprise, has teamed up with Microsoft to drive the ease of cloud adoption among businesses in Hong Kong and broader Asia-Pacific. Datapipe has been recognized by Microsoft as a Direct Partner in its Cloud Service Provider (CSP) Program in Hong Kong. This makes Datapipe one of only four Direct CSP Partners in Hong Kong.
Datapipe’s managed services are now available to enterprises on Microsoft’s cloud platforms including Microsoft Azure, Office 365, and hybrid cloud across Asia-Pacific. Datapipe works closely with Microsoft and its clients to help them manage Microsoft cloud migration, deployment and management – driving up the ease of cloud adoption through its award-winning managed services.
The partnership will help businesses tap into the fast-growth of cloud computing in Hong Kong, where the demand from businesses is set to drive IT spending on public cloud to over US$685 million by 2017, according to research firm IDC. Hong Kong recently displaced Japan to take the top spot as the world’s most “cloud-ready” market of 2016, ahead of countries like the U.S. and U.K., according to the Asia Cloud Readiness Index 2016 by the Asia Cloud Computing Association. The partnership also capitalises on Hong Kong’s booming cloud market as more businesses running on legacy IT systems look to adopt new cloud-based solutions.
The Azure Edge
Businesses on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform can tap into Datapipe’s expertise as a managed services provider to deploy and manage cloud environments: from ease of billing and provisioning to providing 24/7 customer support, as well as its ability to handle client lifecycle management and deep technical integrations. Datapipe works closely with Microsoft to ensure it meets the strict regulatory and cloud compliance standards in every market it operates.
Colin Chan, Vice President and General Manager – Asia at Datapipe, said, “As Microsoft continues to invest heavily in its cloud platforms, we’re pleased to be a partner on that journey. Microsoft Azure and Office 365 are used by millions of businesses across the continent, and several thousands in Hong Kong. Moreover, Microsoft’s Private Cloud platform is great for organisations that want to adopt a more hybrid architecture and stricter compliance, security or configuration requirements. While any business can use Microsoft’s cloud platforms easily, they don’t always have the right skills to ensure best practise deployment, migration and management – that’s where Datapipe comes in. We know that every business has different cloud needs, which is why we offer a range of public, private, and hybrid cloud services tailored to each business, driving their cloud-led digital transformation.”
Flora Yu, Cloud and Enterprise Business Group Lead at Microsoft Hong Kong said “We think of a Cloud Solution Provider as an extension of our Microsoft team. It’s critical that our Cloud Solution Providers have high capability standards to manage the cloud lifecycle and provide a great customer experience. Datapipe meets and exceeds every eligibility requirement we look for in a provider. We’re excited to continue to grow our relationship with Datapipe in Hong Kong and offer local organizations the benefits of the Microsoft Cloud Platform. The Cloud Solution Provider program puts our partners at the center of the customer lifecycle with direct provisioning, billing and support of Microsoft cloud services. By joining the program, partners can create differentiated offers for our mutual customers, while helping them on their cloud journey.”
