Annual security conference gathers global and regional experts to share their thoughts on navigating the future landscape of an Internet-Connected society
Singapore, 3 September 2014 – CLOUDSEC, one of the leading internet security conferences in Asia Pacific, kicks off its fourth annual edition this year with the theme “The Internet SECURITY of Everything”. Bringing together the world’s top experts in information security, CLOUDSEC 2014 promises to address security issues around one of the most pervasive trends of this decade: The Internet of Everything (IoE), where smart devices, personal clouds, wearable technology, big data and networking are connected to the Internet and each other. Through debate and shared learning, CLOUDSEC 2014 aims to inspire IT professionals and business leaders to navigate the future – a networked society that’s constantly connected through the internet.
Hosted by Trend Micro Incorporated (TYO: 4704; TSE:4704), CLOUDSEC 2014 will discuss how enterprises can understand the challenges and current strategies of securing the IoE that occur both today and in the future. CLOUDSEC’s attendees will also get to hear the experts’ thoughts on security solutions which can be implemented today in order to fully harness the power of IoE for organisations and enterprises.
Highlights
At CLOUDSEC 2014, attendees will join in the discussion around the concepts and technologies surrounding the Internet of Everything as we attempt to define the major components of the IoE ecosystem such as internet-connected devices, applications and cloud computing. We will also examine the business impact that the IoE brings, and how enterprises can harness the potential of IoE to boost their bottom line. Drawing the line back to security, CLOUDSEC speakers will then dive into the various aspects of how enterprises can secure their IoE ecosystem in order to reap the benefits from it, with the goal of ensuring that attendees have a clear picture of how they can devise security strategies for the IoE by the end of the conference.
The sessions – consisting of keynotes, panel discussions, breakout tracks, workshops and tutorials – will feature global and regional experts in the areas of advanced persistent threats, big data security, cybercrime and forensics, cloud security, data privacy and protection, virtualisation and software defined security, amongst others. In covering the key infrastructure components of the IoE and the other aspects of enterprise IT, the conference sessions will give attendees a clear idea of how to align responsibilities for securing the IoE across each segment of their organisation and what are the areas which need critical attention.
Distinguished Speakers:
• Raimund Genes, Chief Technology Officer, Trend Micro, will provide the opening keynote for CloudSec 2014
• Dr Madan Mohan Oberoi, Director, INTERPOL Global Complex for Innovation will talk about cybercrime and law enforcement in the age of IoE
• JD Sherry, Vice President, Technology and Solutions, Trend Micro will share the latest threat defence strategies, technologies and success stories
• Bob Flores, Former Chief Technology Officer of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) will share more on how enterprises and organisations can build trustworthy and resilient clouds and systems
• Jim Reavis, Co-founder & Executive Director, Cloud Security Alliance will touch on the topic of cloud security
• Ken Low, Executive Director, CLOUDSEC, will moderate a panel discussion to debate how security needs to be re-examined in an era of unprecedented connectedness
“The pace of change in the technology sector has never been as rapid as it is now, and as a result we see organisations struggle to keep up with the latest developments,” said Ken Low, Executive Director, CLOUDSEC 2014. “In the Internet of Everything, information security will come under further scrutiny as its role becomes even more crucial in supporting digital enterprises. This makes a conference platform like CLOUDSEC valuable, for it brings together the industry’s best security experts for a constructive dialogue and debate which will help shape the approach we take to secure the IoE. We look forward to an immersive and shared learning experience this year.”
CLOUDSEC 2014 is held in six major Asian business hubs – Hong Kong, Jakarta, Mumbai, Singapore, and Taipei.
