Epson Achieves Top Honours with 2014 Summer Pick Award for Outstanding A4 Departmental Scanner
Singapore, 4 August , 2014 – Epson, a world leader in digital imaging and print solutions, has once again received top honours as it has been awarded Buyers Laboratory’s (BLI) 2014 Summer “Pick” award for “Outstanding A4 Departmental Scanner.” Through a series of extensive product evaluations conducted by BLI, the Epson Workforce DS-860 scanner consistently outpaced the competition, earning better than average results for the majority of performance categories tested. The unit’s overall performance helped it to win “Pick” recognition for the mid-size workgroup category.
“In order for businesses to run at top efficiency, they need machines that are reliable, durable and fast, which is what we aim to provide with every product,” says Koichi Endo, Managing Director of Epson Southeast Asia. “To have our product recognised by such a prestigious industry influencer is a testament to how Epson’s commitment to innovation and dedication towards helping companies achieve their business goals is working.”
Asides from its higher than average OCR accuracy, the WorkForce DS-860 has shown faster than average speeds when measuring the unit’s hardware throughput. The DS-860’s Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) handles a wider than average range of paper weights, while the additional features include the ability to scan to various cloud destinations, smaller than average file sizes in colour mode and a daily duty cycle of 6,000 pages. With the bundled Epson Document Capture Pro Software, users can customize up to 30 profiles for frequently used scan operations.
“The Epson DS-860 offers the total package: robust software, a rich feature set and an intuitive design all for a lower than average price,” said Lisa Reider, BLI’s senior product editor for scanners.
In their published statement, BLI stated that the Epson WorkForce DS-860 provides virtually everything needed to capture and route documents in fast-paced workgroup and departmental scanning environments.
