Not long ago, HP announced and launched the new HP ENVY TouchSmart series for the Singapore market. These laptops are the first in Singapore to have a ultra high resolution display screen at 3200 x 1800. The ENVY 14 TouchSmart is one which brings such next generation technology into the hands of everyone because of its affordability.
The ENVY 14 TouchSmart fits right into the Intel specifications of a Ultrabook. This means that this unit is in fact very thin and light. HP has taken a step further to introduce a touch display panel to be used with the 3200 x 1800 qHD screen.
In design aspects, the HP ENVY 14 TouchSmart hardware is housed within a aluminium casing. This gives the whole notebook a very premium look and feel, making it awfully similar with the design of a Macbook Pro. It even has got a backlit keyboard!

HP ENVY 14 TouchSmart also comes with the latest 4th generation Intel Haswell processors and is equipped with a Nvidia GT740M discrete graphics card that works in tandem with the Intel integrated graphics processor. This ensures that the whole system still runs smooth and power efficiently even with the added pixels that the computer has to render at such high resolution.
In terms of expandability, the notebook has got a Gigabit LAN port, a USB port and a 3.5mm audio jack on the right hand side.
On the other side, it has a HDMI out port, 2 USB 3.0 ports and a SD card slot.
At such high resolution, this machine is sure to make work much more productive as users can open more applications on the same screen. However, running games on such high resolution even with the built in GT740M graphics processor will be unsuitable. Therefore, this notebook is meant to be more of a productivity machine than a gaming machine.
The HP ENVY 14 TouchSmart notebook is already available in all major IT retailers in Singapore. It is comes in different SKUs and will be retailing from SGD1099 onwards.
