Turtle Beach has introduced the Vulcan II XP, a full-size wired mechanical gaming keyboard built around replaceable switches, sound-dampening materials and extensive software customisation.
The company opened pre-orders on 26 August 2026 and lists the keyboard at US$149.99, €129.99 and £119.99. Turtle Beach’s announcement gives 25 October 2026 as the launch date, although an IT Home report lists 26 October.
A full-size board with replaceable switches
The Vulcan II XP uses Turtle Beach’s TITAN HS mechanical switches and will be sold with either Red Linear or Brown Tactile options. Both variants use five-pin housings, are lubricated at the factory and are rated by the manufacturer for up to 50 million keystrokes. These durability and feel claims come from Turtle Beach and have not been independently tested by The Tech Revolutionist.
Hot-swappable sockets allow compatible three-pin and five-pin mechanical switches to be replaced without soldering. The keyboard also accepts most third-party keycap sets with cross-shaped stems, giving owners room to change its typing feel and appearance over time.
The chassis follows the low-profile, floating-key design associated with the Vulcan range and uses a brushed aluminium top plate. Turtle Beach says factory-lubricated stabilisers and internal sound-dampening foam are intended to reduce unwanted vibration and case noise. A detachable soft wrist rest is included.
Gaming controls and per-key lighting
For gaming, the keyboard supports full N-key rollover and anti-ghosting. Its ReacTap SOCD feature prioritises the most recent directional input when opposing keys are pressed, an approach aimed at faster counter-strafing in competitive games. Game Mode enables ReacTap and disables the Windows key to reduce accidental interruptions.
Easy-Shift[+] adds a second programmable function layer, while Turtle Beach’s Swarm II desktop software handles key remapping, macros, RGB effects and up to five onboard profiles. The Vulcan II XP also includes per-key AIMO RGB lighting and supports Windows Dynamic Lighting, allowing compatible lighting controls to be managed through Windows 11.
A dedicated multifunction wheel controls volume and can be pressed to mute. Turtle Beach says the wheel also works with Windows Wheel features in compatible navigation and creative applications. Dedicated media buttons sit alongside it in the keyboard’s upper-right corner.
Wired connectivity and October availability
The Vulcan II XP connects through a detachable USB-C cable positioned on the left side of the keyboard. Turtle Beach has not advertised Bluetooth or 2.4GHz wireless connectivity, so buyers should treat it as a wired desktop model.
Pre-orders are available through Turtle Beach and participating retailers. Regional availability and local pricing may vary, and independent reviews will be needed to assess switch consistency, stabiliser tuning, acoustic performance and software behaviour.
