Samsung Galaxy S27 CAD renders point to a familiar design and larger battery

Leaked CAD renders suggest Samsung’s standard Galaxy S27 will retain the S26’s compact 6.3-inch form and vertical triple-camera layout, while rumours point to a 4,900mAh battery and a possible new main camera sensor.

Samsung may be planning only subtle exterior changes for its next standard Galaxy S flagship. Newly reported CAD renders of the alleged Galaxy S27 show a handset that closely resembles the Galaxy S26, complete with a compact display and three vertically arranged rear cameras.

CAD-based renders published by Android Headlines in collaboration with leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer (@OnLeaks), and subsequently reported by IT Home, suggest that the standard Galaxy S27 will closely resemble the Galaxy S26. Samsung has not announced the Galaxy S27, and the renders and accompanying specifications remain unconfirmed.

According to the report, the Galaxy S27 measures approximately 149.75 x 71.88 x 7.25mm. That would make it only marginally larger than the Galaxy S26, which measures 149.6 x 71.7 x 7.2mm.

The display is said to remain at 6.3 inches, keeping the standard model among the smaller premium Android phones. The renders also suggest that Samsung will retain a flat front and a vertically aligned triple-camera system on the rear. The camera lenses still protrude individually, so the phone would likely rock when used on a flat surface without a case.

Any visual changes appear modest. The display bezels look slightly narrower in the images, although CAD-based renders are not always a precise representation of the final hardware. The colour shown in the renders may also be illustrative rather than a finish intended for production.

Chip strategy remains unclear

Samsung’s processor plans for the Galaxy S27 are still uncertain. The Galaxy S26 uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy in the United States and selected markets, while European models are equipped with Samsung’s Exynos 2600.

Recent rumours suggest that Samsung is evaluating the Exynos 2700 for wider use in the Galaxy S27 series, potentially including more markets than before. There is no confirmation that the company will adopt a single-chip strategy globally, however, and regional variants may remain.

The standard Galaxy S27 is also expected to include 12GB of RAM and begin with 256GB of storage. Both figures remain speculative at this stage.

Camera and battery could deliver the bigger upgrades

The more meaningful changes may be inside the phone. Samsung is reportedly testing a new main camera sensor for the standard Galaxy S27, with a Sony component said to be one of the candidates. If selected, it could represent the first main-camera hardware change for the standard Galaxy S model in more than five years and a departure from Samsung’s own ISOCELL sensor for this particular camera.

Battery capacity could receive an equally notable increase. The report points to a 4,900mAh battery for the Galaxy S27, nearly 14 per cent larger than the capacity in its predecessor. A separate rumour places the Galaxy S27 Ultra at around 5,700mAh.

These upgrades are still reportedly under consideration or testing, so specifications may change before Samsung finalises the devices. For now, the leak suggests that the standard Galaxy S27 will prioritise internal improvements while preserving the compact proportions and restrained design of the Galaxy S26.
