Running together with the 2026 Smart City Summit & Expo is the sustainability-focused Net Zero City Expo, with this year’s edition bringing together more approaches for people to contribute to the cause in innovative ways.
First up is the various government departments working together to bring collaborative projects to life, as they have been doing since 2021’s goal post planting, and have improvised by identifying various action plans and major sectors that they can work around.
On the other hand, Shanhao Integrated Design Co., Ltd is using sustainable farming and maximum efficiency in material utilization so that nothing gets wasted, particularly tea leaves in this case, which can be processed into other useful items.
Next up is the Ministry of Transformation’s booth that showcases various solutions aimed at making public roads and infrastructures as safe as possible through the power of tech and AI.
Pushing the idea of Go Safe, Smart, and Green, they have management software for easy overview, digital smart railways, predictive typhoon alerts, roads mapped into 3D space for models to run and provide, all to make everything go faster, smoother, and more efficient.
Over at the AI City Pavilion, we have ASUS MAAS showing off the fully electric-powered vehicle that is sort of like a shuttle bus (can be used for one, pretty sure). That’s not the main point, though, as it is aimed to be equipped with a full set of ADAS systems for the full driverless experience.
Of course, almost everything is tied back to energy in terms of how it is harvested and used, as well as things like carbon footprint. We did saw alot of crafted demos on how they procure these sources, such as geothermal, wind, water, and more.
All in all, a net-zero city is only possible when people come together to work towards the goal, combining expertise and optimizations at every angle, which is done bit by bit by the hard-working society that builds a truly sustainable country.
