Kingston has once again claimed the top position as the world’s largest third-party DRAM module supplier, according to the latest revenue-based rankings from TrendForce. The report places Kingston firmly in first place with an estimated 66% market share, marking the company’s 22nd straight year as the global leader in the DRAM module segment.
TrendForce data indicates that total DRAM module sales rose by 7% year-over-year in 2024, a notable rebound following a 28% decline in 2023. Despite slower growth in the latter half of the year amid softer consumer demand, Kingston maintained a commanding lead. The top five suppliers collectively represented 81% of global sales, yet the gap between Kingston and its nearest competitor remained significant, with the runner-up holding only 5% of the market.
Industry analysts noted that as DRAM manufacturers shifted production toward high-bandwidth memory (HBM) and server-grade DDR5 modules in late 2023, the reduced availability of traditional DRAM types caused prices to rise. This led module makers to ramp up procurement to meet demand, resulting in a total market value of $13.3 billion for 2024. However, by year-end, higher prices began to restrain sales momentum across consumer segments.
Kingston’s strong product innovation further reinforced its position, with the company introducing the Kingston FURY Renegade DDR5 RGB Limited Edition, featuring a racecar-inspired design and speeds of up to 8000MT/s for extreme overclocking performance. It also rolled out the Kingston FURY Renegade DDR5 CUDIMMs, designed for Intel’s 800-series chipset, targeting professionals and enthusiasts demanding uncompromised speed and signal integrity.
