The Philips Light Lab in Toa Payoh, Singapore, has gotten a refresh that brings an even more immersive home-like setup to allow visitors to experience how a modern and smart setup can elevate the living standards through things as simple as light bulbs.
The lot has showcased the WiZ HDMI Sync Box, ready to be launched next month. It is capable of syncing your room lighting with what’s happening on your TV screen, whether you’re gaming, watching movies, or vibing to music – all in real time without a camera. And the unit also supports HDMI 2.0 and 4K HDR for a streamlined and wallet-friendly entry point for immersive lighting.
Next is the Philips Hue Play wall washer coming in October, which rocks a sleek, design-forward wall washer that uses ColorCast projection tech to cast dynamic lighting gradients across your wall. When synced with your entertainment, it delivers bold, real-time effects that elevate the experience. Even when not in use, it doubles as elegant ambient lighting that complements your décor.
In August, Philips Hue will be offering a gen-AI feature that responds with the correct adjustments through simple chats from the user. Soon, it will even help with scheduling and offer in-app chatbot support.
Beyond tech, Signify is also using the Light Lab to promote sustainable living. In collaboration with the National Environment Agency (NEA), they’re running educational sessions that teach energy-saving habits and highlight how smart lighting contributes to greener homes.
