ROG Singapore has announced they will be bringing in 2 enthusiast-class motherboards to the local market – the Crosshair X870E Extreme and Crosshair X870E Apex.
Designed for no-compromise builds, the X870E Extreme delivers a 20+2+2 phase power solution, capable of handling top-tier CPUs like the Ryzen 9 9950X3D with ease. ASUS reinforces the board’s stability with robust VRM heatsinks, dual 8-pin ProCool II connectors, and an extensive toolset tailored for overclocking.
Users get access to ASUS’s Extreme OC kit, featuring LN2 mode, a ReTry button, customizable FlexKey, and Probelt voltage readout points. BIOS features include AI Overclocking, ASUS Enhanced Memory Profiles (AEMP), Dynamic OC Switcher, Core Flex, and AI Cache Boost, which ASUS claims can improve large language model performance by up to 12.75%.
Memory performance is further elevated with NitroPath DRAM technology, improving signal quality and allowing potential gains of up to 400 MT/s in overclocked RAM speeds.
Storage support is equally advanced. The board comes with a PCIe 5.0 M.2 slot (M.2 22110), tool-free M.2 Q-Release and Q-Latch mechanisms, and a chunky heatsink for thermal control. Connectivity includes 10Gb Marvell AQtion Ethernet, 5Gb Realtek Ethernet, and WiFi 7 via the ASUS WiFi Q-Antenna, delivering up to 6.5Gbps over the 6GHz band.
Meanwhile, the X870E Apex caters to memory overclocking purists and breaks new ground as the first Apex board tuned for AMD Ryzen systems. This model features a dual-DIMM design, minimizing interference for cleaner signal integrity, and is equipped with 18+2+2 power stages, thick heatsinks, and an L-shaped heatpipe. ASUS reinforces the rear with metal armor for structural and thermal benefits.
True to its legacy, the Apex supports LN2 cooling, includes headers for AIO pumps, and adds a W_PUMP+ high-amp header for custom liquid loops. A ROG Memory Fan Kit is also bundled for active DIMM cooling.
For expandability, the Apex supports PCIe 5.0 GPUs, three M.2 slots, plus two additional PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots via the bundled ROG DIMM.2 module. All slots include ASUS’s tool-free installation aids. Users also get four SATA ports and robust connectivity including WiFi 7, 5Gb Ethernet, and a suite of high-speed USB options.
