OPPO has outlined the next phase of its AI strategy at the AI Tech Summit keynote during MWC 2025, highlighting deeper integration, enhanced privacy, and expanded AI-driven experiences.
Strengthening AI capabilities through Google collaboration
OPPO is deepening its partnership with Google to integrate Google AI at a system level across its smartphones. This collaboration will enable Google Gemini to work seamlessly with native OPPO apps such as Notes, Calendar, and Clock. Building on existing support for Gemini 1.5 Pro and Gemini 1.5 Flash, OPPO plans to introduce Gemini 2.0 to its devices in the near future.
To reinforce user privacy, OPPO is also leveraging Google Cloud’s Confidential Computing to power its Private Computing Cloud (PCC). This initiative will support AI-driven features like AI Recording Summary, AI Search, AI Studio, and AI Call Summary, with implementation expected later this year.
Advancing AI innovation with hardware and R&D
Beyond software, OPPO continues to optimize hardware through its close collaboration with MediaTek, focusing on AI-powered processor efficiency while maintaining energy savings.
The company is also utilizing advanced AI technologies such as Low-Rank Adaptation (LoRA), Parallel Decoding Solution, and Mixture of Experts (MoE) to enhance on-device AI performance. Meanwhile, its cloud infrastructure remains a cornerstone of secure data management.
Expanding AI features with faster rollouts
In a notable commitment, OPPO aims to deliver monthly AI feature updates via the latest ColorOS versions.
The Find N5 foldable smartphone is set to receive AI Search along with the Google Gemini integration for OPPO’s native apps. Additionally, updates to AI Call Translator and AI VoiceScribe will enhance international online meetings and communications.
