MSI has officially unveiled its latest range of motherboards designed for the Intel B860 and H810 chipsets, aiming to deliver user-focused features for the mainstream market.
The B860 chipset is the mid-range option, offering PCIe 5.0 slots, an associated M.2 compartment, and RAM overclocking capabilities of up to 9200+MT/s. It also includes 24 PCIe lanes and supports up to 8 Direct Media Interface (DMI) Gen4 lanes, effectively doubling the data transfer capacity compared to the H810.
Both platforms include Thunderbolt 4 support, ensuring even budget-friendly motherboards can take advantage of the protocol’s high-speed optics-based connection.
The B860 models also feature the redesigned Click BIOS X, which improves usability with tools like Performance Preset, enhanced XMP Memory Profiles, and Memory Try It! for memory fine-tuning. Users can leverage AI Boost and OC Engine to optimize performance for the NPU module and gaming applications.
MSI has retained its EZ-DIY features to streamline PC building, such as the EZ M.2 Shield Frozr II, EZ PCIe Release, and EZ Antenna, enhancing connectivity with Killer WiFi 7 and 5G LAN. These boards are equipped with extended heatsinks, server-grade PCB designs, and up to 12-phase power delivery systems with Smart Power Stages. Supplemental PCIe power connectors ensure stability under heavy loads, making these motherboards suitable for gaming and AI computing.
Supported Intel CPUs include the following SKUs:
- Intel® Core™ Ultra 9 285 / 285T
- Intel® Core™ Ultra 7 265 / 265T / 265F
- Intel® Core™ Ultra 5 245 / 245T / 235 / 235T / 225 / 225T / 225F
Early teasers of the upcoming models highlight the MAG B860 TOMAHAWK WIFI and MAG B860M MORTAR WIFI, tailored for gamers with features like a 12-phase Dual Rail Power System, Thunderbolt 4, triple M.2 slots, and several EZ-DIY enhancements.
Meanwhile, the PRO B860 series continues its “simple is best” philosophy, offering a sleek design, 12-phase power systems, and robust connectivity for work and everyday computing.
