Samsung Singapore has announced the arrival of the new Galaxy A16 smartphone to the local market to spice up the budget segment before 2024 ends.
For SG, they are actually offering two different models in terms of connectivity – 4G LTE or 5G. Depending on your needs, you can save a couple of bucks if you don’t need a 5G connection.
But anyway, the design language is kind of a mixed bag here – The waterdrop camera cutout on the front is pretty much dead since 2022 but they had the chance to elevate the back side with a nice coat of shiny paint.
If you don’t care about looks, then the Galaxy A16 comes with a respectable configuration and hardware when you factor in the price point it’s going for, in which here’s a quick spec sheet for reference:
- 6.7-inch AMOLED Display
- 1080p Resolution
- 90Hz Refresh Rate
- MediaTek Helio G99 Chipset (Samsung Exynos 1330 for 5G)
- 8GB RAM
- 128GB Storage
- Triple Rear Cameras
- Main: 50MP f/1.8 (AF)
- Ultra-Wide: 5MP f/2.2
- Macro: 2MP f/2.4
- 13MP Selfie Camera
- 5,000mAh Battery
