OPPO is set to launch its groundbreaking Find X8 and Find X8 Pro smartphones at a global event on November 21, 2024, in Bali, Indonesia. The devices will be the first globally available smartphones featuring MediaTek’s advanced Dimensity 9400 chipset, promising exceptional performance across gaming, imaging, and AI capabilities.
The new flagship series showcases a powerful combination of hardware and software innovations. The Dimensity 9400 chipset, built on TSMC’s second-generation 3nm process, introduces a second-generation All Big Core design with one Arm Cortex-X925 core at 3.62GHz, complemented by 3x Cortex-X4 and 4x Cortex-A720 cores. This configuration delivers 35% faster single-core and 28% faster multi-core performance compared to the previous generation.
Gaming performance receives a significant boost with the 12-core Arm Immortalis-G925 GPU, offering up to 40% faster raytracing and a 41% peak performance improvement. The devices feature a custom cooling system to maintain consistent high frame rates even at maximum graphics settings.
The Find X8 stands out with its slim 7.85mm profile, weighing just 193g, and features a 6.59-inch display with an ultra-narrow 1.45mm symmetrical border. Available in Star Grey, Space Black, and Shell Pink, it offers a fingerprint-resistant finish. The Find X8 Pro provides a larger 6.78-inch display with quad-curved glass and introduces a dual-periscope telephoto camera.
Both models incorporate OPPO’s Hasselblad Master Camera System, featuring AI Telescope Zoom that activates at 10x and beyond. The Lightning Snap feature can capture up to seven photos per second without compromising photo processing quality. The devices leverage MediaTek’s Imagiq 1090 ISP to enhance photography and video performance, with 14% less power consumption during 4K video recording.
AI capabilities are a standout feature, with MediaTek’s 8th Generation NPU offering up to 80% faster large language model performance. OPPO has integrated Google Gemini Nano’s language intelligence into Magic Compose, enabling context-aware replies in multiple languages and tones.
Battery performance is equally impressive, with a silicon-carbon battery of 5630mAh in the Find X8 and 5910mAh in the Find X8 Pro. The Dimensity 9400’s up to 40% improved power efficiency contributes to extended battery life. Connectivity is enhanced by OPPO’s AI LinkBoost and MediaTek’s upgrades, promising stable connections even in crowded environments.
