At the recent Google I/O Connect China 2024 event, OPPO showcased a new set of generative AI features developed in-house to update the public on their advancements.
The keynote, led by Kai Tang, President of OPPO Software Engineering, emphasized several high-productivity AI features powered by Google’s Gemini models.
One such feature is AI Recording Summary, which supports numerous languages and multi-speaker recognition, allowing it to automatically identify and extract key information. This tool is particularly useful for enhancing efficiency and capturing essential points in cross-regional meetings.
Another feature is the AI Toolbox, which combines AI Summary, AI Writer, and AI Speak into a single package, designed to streamline reading, simplify content creation, and enable hands-free operation. These features will be integrated into the smart sidebar of ColorOS.
As for ColorOS, the Reno12 series smartphone line which hosts ColorOS14 can already access these AI capabilities.
OPPO remains committed to investing in AI technology to make it widely accessible, targeting around 50 million equipped devices by the end of the year. They also plan to continue and expand their collaborations with top industry partners like Google.
