GIGABYTE has revealed a bunch of interesting products over at CES 2024 so let’s take a quick look at them.
Gaming Laptops
Two new models are announced, namely the AORUS 16X and GIGABYTE G6X. Although they are not running the latest ‘Meteor Lake’ Intel Core Ultra CPUs like last month’s AORUS 15 and AORUS17, they are not lacking behind with a set of powerful selections of up to Intel Core i9-14900HX and up to NVIDIA GeForce rRX 4070 Laptop GPU.
Their take on the “AI” thing comes from the utilities themselves like the AI Power Gear optimizes battery life to the max through the dynamic iGPU/dGPU switch and the AI Boost automatic overclocking tool and AI Generator which is like a hub for all sorts of generative apps.
Under the hood, the newly upgraded WINDFORCE Infinity Cooling thermal solution featuring the Icy Touch design and oDB Cooling provides ample heat dissipation in various scenarios.
With the 3-sided slim bezels and 90%+ screen-to-body ratio, they are matched to the demands of 2024 in terms of video and gaming entertainment thanks to the Dolby Atmos and virtual 5.1.2-channel supported audio system. Another extra point for the AORUS 16X as it has Dolby Vision which gives more HDR fun.
Gaming Monitors
Turning our eyes to the display section, the new AORUS FO32U2P is the cream of the crop, debuting as the world’s 1st DP 2.1 UHBR20-compliant tactical gaming monitor. The new standards provide 80Gbps bandwidth without Display Stream Compression (DSC) for a super high refresh rate and immense visual details delivered to your eyes. It also supports daisy chaining for less cable clutter.
There’s also the FO32U2 featuring HDMI 2.1 FRL 12G support and FO27Q3 that runs at 360Hz refresh rate (Not the most mind-breaking thing in 2024 but still crazy g00d) alongside a couple of ultra-wide curved models like the MO34WQC and MO34WQC2.
All of these run on the new CMR13000-tier QD-OLED panels that have even better motion clarity with minimal motion blur and ghosting together with 1.5M:1 contrast ratio, VESA DisplayHDR True Blac 400 certification, and 99% DCI-P3 color gamut.
For AORUS models, they have also injected the Tactical Switch sauce which is a shortcut key that can launch several quick-access functions like Night Vision for enhancing low-light game areas and Resolution Switch that can immediately swap to a 1080p 24-inch size for FPS.
Lastly, the GIGABYTE OLED Care which is an innate AI function regulates and automates the panel for additional longevity of the OLED pixels, and the best part is no user intervention is needed.
GPUs
GIGABYTE is also joining the release of Team Red’s new Radeon RX7600 XT mid-range GPU in the form of the GAMING OC model. Rocking the classic tri-fan formula, there will be more thermal headroom compared to other dual-fan-only models so there’s a niche gap to be filled by this.
The 16GB card also hosts alternate spinning WINDFORCE fans for better airflow, composite copper heat pipes in direct contact with the GPU, plus graphene nano lubricant for long durability as close as double ball bearing designs. Meanwhile, the protective backplate strengthens the overall structure as well as the side LED for some subtle lighting.
The GIGABYTE WINDFORCE cooling system is tailored for gamers, boasting three unique blade fans with alternate spinning, composite copper heat pipes in direct contact with the GPU, 3D active fans, and screen cooling. The Alternate Spinning technology rotates the central fan in the opposite direction of the side fans, directing airflow in the same direction and doubling air pressure while reducing turbulence. This design effectively dissipates heat from both the top and the bottom of the graphics card, resulting in improved overall cooling performance.
Now for Team Green, the AORUS family logically gets the best out of the bunch with the RTX 4080 Super carrying the MASTER formula featuring the WINDFORCE bionic shark fan allowing up to 30% extra static pressure while cutting noise level by up to 3dB while the larger heatsink module with angular fins and direct-touch vapor chamber work together with heat pipes and the enlarged screen cooling vent to achieve the best clock speeds and temperature possible.
The signature RGB Halo ring is here to stay while the LCD Edige View on the side is the “customizable display” you all are pretty familiar with.
The usual Dual BIOS support, aerospace-grade PCB coating, and ULTRA DURABLE components are just the standard GIGABYTE certifications.
As for the main GIGABYTE family, there’s almost a model or two across all 4 series of GAMING, AERO, EAGLE, and WINDFORCE where the design stays pretty much the same with prior RTX 40 series cards.
