ASUS’s take on the GPU+SSD trend has come to fruition with the official introduction of the Dual GeForce RTX 4060 Ti SSD.
Following the straightforward dual-fan design of the DUAL series, the card now features a backside cut-out designed to accommodate an M.2 2280 SSD.
Although the card defaults to PCIe 4.0, if both your motherboard’s slot and the SSD are PCIe 5.0 compatible, the SSD can operate at PCIe 5.0 speeds without affecting the GPU’s performance so no problem putting that $500 SSD inside it.
Additionally, there’s no need for more than one PCIe power connector for this card even if it is carrying a drive on its back
It’s important to note that the card is based on the 8GB version of the RTX 4060 Ti.
ASUS has also ensured that the drive can make use of the GPU’s heatsink to maintain consistent cooling, enabling your PCIe 5.0 SSD to unleash its intended power.
