Samsung Singapore has unveiled the upcoming release of the Galaxy SmartTag2 set to hit the market next week.
Among the noteworthy additions to the Galaxy SmartTag2 is the introduction of Lost Mode, a passive feature that enables users to input contact information for identification, allowing anyone with a smartphone to scan the tag and ascertain the owner’s details so that the item or subject (like your pet) can be returned.
The upgraded Compass View provides users with more precise tracking capabilities, enabling them to determine the direction and distance of the lost item relative to a supported smartphone with UWB technology, such as the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
The device itself now offers a Power Saving Mode for optimal battery longevity, providing up to 700 days of operational time, while Normal Mode offers around 500 days of usage.
Samsung has also taken the opportunity to enhance the SmartThings app, which now automatically generates a unique home icon for each registered SmartTag2. Additionally, it boasts an optimized interface and a full-screen map view, enhancing the overall user experience.
Furthermore, Samsung ensures seamless data transfer when switching to another Galaxy smartphone, as all data is securely stored in your Samsung account.
Notable features also include ‘Unknown Tag Alerts’ for detecting unauthorized tags nearby, integration with all SmartThings-compatible appliances for improved tag detection, out-of-range notifications, and more.
Price and Availability
The Samsung Galaxy SmartTag2 will officially go on sale beginning October 20 at the price of $38.
