Just a couple of days before the big event COMPUTEX 2023, Acer has revealed what are they going to show off there and it’ll be some laptops and a router.
First on the list is the Swift Edge 16 packing a stunning 16-inch 3.2K OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut for the best visual experience possible aided by VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification for absolute blacks and guaranteed high contrast ratio.
Under the hood is the AMD Ryzen 7 7040HS with Ryzen AI that leverages smart algorithms to make your computer more efficient and powerful at a wide variety of tasks. The integrated Radeon 780M graphics should do the trick for light editing and such.
The additional Microsoft Pluton security chip adds protection against cyberattacks that are growing stronger every day alongside handling the verification for fingerprint inputs.
Memory-wise, it can go up to 32GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 2TB of PCIe 4.0 SSD.
The new wireless standard WiFi 7 is also going to bring a much faster and more responsive connection for those who need to use a ton of bandwidth for transferring big files. For I/O, there are 2x USB-A, 2x USB 4-C, 1x HDMI 2.1, and a microSD card reader.
And yet all of the goodies are going inside a chassis that is only 1.23kg light and 12.95mm thin.
Notable features include a 1440p webcam with Temporal Noise Reduction (TNR) and Acer PurifiedVoice with AI noise reduction.
Next up is the gaming laptop Predator Triton 16. Focusing on the performance first, it can take up to a 13th Gen Intel Core i9 CPU and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop GPU and couple with 32GB of DDR5-5200 RAM and up to 32GB of PCIe 4.0 SSD in RAID 0, this is one heck of a machine money can buy.
Cooling off the machine is the 5th-generation 3D AeroBlade 3D metal fans imbued with VertexFlow technology of strategically placed heat pipes and air vents for maximized cold air passthrough.
The display, on the other hand, is a gaming-grade 240Hz IPS panel with 2560×1600 resolution, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, and support for NVIDIA Optimus Advanced and G-SYNC.
Users will be able to hook up a lot of peripherals to it thanks to the I/O selections of 2x USB-A 3.2 Gen 2, 1x HDMI 2.1, 1x Thunderbolt 4, and a microSD card reader while the Intel Killer Doubleshot Pro and WiFi 6E will make sure no packets get dropped.
The last one is simple yet meaningful in the sense of being eco-friendly Connect Vero W6m that is capable of supporting Wi-Fi 6E Triband AXE7800 for a maximum of 7.8Gbps throughput.
Designed for easy mesh setup, it can pair up to 4 other units to deliver coverage up to 930m square for 465m square for dual unit setups.
It also complies with EU EN 303 645 (RED) Cyber Security Standards so that you know it will be as secure as one can get.
For the body, it is made of 30% Post Consumer Recycled (PCR) plastics and painted with a cobblestone gray finish to let it blend in with any office or home setup. The Eco Mode further makes it energy efficient and low-powered to continuously drive the effort of reduced wastage.
And just for a side announcement, Acer’s 3D vision department SpatialLabs will expand developer tools by offering support in the form of a Unity plugin for easier access to the brand’s glass-less three-dimensional tech.
All the things discussed in this post will be launched at a later date and subject to local availability.
