The latest gadget by Nothing has entered Singapore and no, it’s not the Nothing Phone 2, just yet. Instead, it is the brand’s second take on the TWS, the Nothing ear (2).
Coming in a style that is largely similar to its predecessor, the ear (2) delivers an even better audio experience to your ears using the large 11.6mm dynamic driver together with a custom diaphragm pumping out music transmitted with a maximum frequency of 24bit/192KHz via LDHC 5.0 codec. Nothing also credits the use of polyurethane and graphene materials alongside the unique dual-chamber design as the reason for the ear (2)’s clear highs and deep bass.
On the side of voice capturing, it is handled by 3 microphones on each earbud which means there’s a total of 6 to take in your speech and process with AI noise reduction to end in a clear and crisp sound. Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) is basically the bread and butter of TWS nowadays but Nothing has made it smart and adjusts to the environment via Adaptive Mode.
As for user preferences, the Nothing X companion app has been updated to include several new functions and one of them is the Personal Sound Profile that embeds a unique hearing ID so that you own a unique equalizer template tuned to your ear canal. You can also find some other things like dual connection, auto music replay after receiving a call, and more.
The ear (2) also has some serious battery life too as it is rated for up to 36 hours of music playback (ANC off) and if you’re in a hurry, 10 minutes of juice can deliver 8 hours of usage thanks to fast charge support. The case can also do 2.5W wireless charging and reverse charging with compatible smartphones if you don’t like the cables. At last, IP54 and IP55 certifications are given to the earbuds and the case respectively.
