Southeast Asia’s leading esports franchise, Team Flash, expands offering to the region’s most popular mobile esports title.
For it’s first entry into the Mobile Legends professional scene, Team Flash has chosen to acquire Team Tyrants – the impressive first-runners up of MPL Season 1.
Made up of Singapore’s top Mobile Legends players, the team will be rebranded as the “Flash Tyrants” and represent the organization this season.
Known for their fierce work ethic and incredible teamwork, Flash Tyrants will look to go one step better than last season. Consisting of star mid and captain, Aeon, as well as veterans Xian, Swan and Aubi – the team will look to charge ahead of the opposition in the regular season starting this weekend. New addition Lun will also look to impress, while Marc remains a versatile substitute for the team.
Said Weisheng ‘Aeon’ Ong, captain: “We are very excited to be part of Team Flash. With the support from Flash, we believe we will reach new heights. There is ultimately only one goal: to become champions of MPL Season 2 and beyond.”
MPL Season 2 kicks off this weekend with the two toughest matches of the regular season: Flash Tyrants will make their debut against Bigetreon later today 10/8, followed by AirAsia Saiyan the next day on 11/8. The league has an increased prize pool of USD$100,000, with the play-offs happening in Malaysia in October.
With the reinforcement from heavyweights like AirAsia Saiyan and Bigetreon SG, as well as new entrants like EVOS, it will be no mean feat for Flash Tyrants to emerge as champions this season.
After this exciting expansion, Team Flash now has a regional footprint of more than 30 gamers across the region.
There are also plans for a training facility in Singapore, with the organization already owning an operational incubator in Hanoi, Vietnam for it’s prized AOV division who will be competing in the Asia Games end August.
