Motorola just announced two new devices in their line-up, one of which is the moto x4. Coming at S$599, it is priced and specced to be a great value mid-range smartphone.
It has features that many need for a smooth day-to-day usage. Powered by Snapdragon™ 630 (2.2GHz), IP68 dust and water resistance, and it is also protected by Gorilla glass that is handy at preventing scratches – which plastic/metal fails to.
What makes the moto x4 unique is in its software features. The highlight of which is the Moto Key, the ability to login to websites on your PC with the fingerprint sensor on the moto x4.
Thanks to Bluetooth 4.2 (and 5.0 after Android Oreo), it is able to connect up to 4 Bluetooth audio devices simultaneously. What the spec sheets suggests, the moto x4 should be receiving Android 8.0 some time in the future.
The second mid-range smartphone they released is the moto g5S plus. Priced at S$499 and is similarly specced as the former with Snapdragon™ 625 (2.0GHz). What makes the g5S plus stand out is its all-metal design, making it more durable to drops.
Both devices have dual-rear cameras, standard and wide-angle – 12MP and 8MP for the moto x4 and 13MP both for the moto g5S plus respectively. Not to mention, both have a pretty decent front-facing camera which works well in low-light scenarios.
Both even comes with a Panorama Selfie mode that can be pretty handy in a large group. And yes, the new devices have a portrait mode with Selective Focus – adjustable focus length after the photo is taken. Last but definitely not the least, both of which have a 3.5mm headphone jack!!
