While you may know BenQ for their monitors and Zowie for their gaming peripherals, you may have not realized that BenQ had acquired Zowie in 2015, and have been coming out with many interesting eSport related hardware. Today, the BenQ Zowie brand has announced the latest eSports monitors here in Singapore, specifically the XL2540 and XL2735.
Both the XL2540 and XL2735 monitors aims to provide the best possible visual gaming experience to gamers. The XL2540 is the first 240Hz 24.5 inch professional eSports monitor that will be readily available in the country. With such a high refresh rate, this monitor enables gamers to have a competitive edge and be even more reactive to any events that happens in-game. BenQ recommends that gamers should also use top-end graphics card, such as the NVIDIA GTX 10 series, AMD Radeon RX480 or higher, in order to reap the full benefits of the native 240Hz refresh rate of the monitor.
As a monitor that can be used in competitive environments, the BenQ ZOWIE XL2540 is also built with side screen shields (to prevent game screening and distractions). Moreover, the monitor can also be easily adjusted,rotated and tilted, in order to attain the maximum comfort and best possible viewing angles for the gamers. This monitor also expresses its colours well for different game genres. For example, with its Black eQualizer feature, darker areas of the game scenes are modified and more visible. Interestingly, the benefits of this technology does not come at the expense of overexposure in other areas of the scene. The monitor also has 20 levels of Color Vibrance settings that can be specifically selected based on the gamer’s preference, or for suited different types of games.
On the other hand, the XL2735 is a 27 inch gaming monitor that supports a refresh rate of up to 144Hz. It is a monitor that is made for gamers who wish to game at higher resolutions. This monitor has a native maximum resolution of 2560 x 1440. Uniquely, the XL2735 spots BenQ Zowie’s exclusive DyAc Technology, which aims to reduce screen stuttering and ghosting in fast paced games. With this technology, gamers can better react and aim at enemies coming in their way. It is especially useful in fast-paced gaming situations.
Both monitors are also equipped a dedicated switch, which allows the gamers to change between different customized and saved viewing modes. Known as the S Switch, switching between monitor profiles and settings are literally as easy as 1-2-3.
