AMD has expanded its roster of DirectX 12 games, extensively optimized for Radeon Graphics, and is continuing to increase its leadership position in the DirectX 12 era.
Updates are released for two recent and exciting games – Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and Battlefield 1 – that use DirectX 12 to provide the best possible experience for gamers everywhere.
1. Elevate your Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Experience with the new DirectX 12 patch
Eidos-Montreal and Square Enix have announced their official Deus Ex: Mankind Divided DirectX 12 patch, scaling performance to a whole new level with DirectX 12 multi-GPU and frame pacing support on Radeon graphics.
This patch enables advanced DirectX 12 features and enhanced performance with support for:
· Asynchronous shaders: Asynchronous Compute Engines in AMD’s GCN and Polaris architectures can submit commands without waiting for other tasks to complete.
· Enhanced multi-GPU experience: Gamers will benefit from up to 100 percent faster performance using Radeon Software Crimson Edition driver 16.10.2 running Deus Ex: Mankind Divided on 8GB Radeon RX 480 multi-GPU1in DirectX 12. The 4GB Radeon RX 470 also offers up to 100 percent faster multi-GPU performance in DirectX 12 in Deus Ex than with the 4GB Radeon RX 470 single-GPU.2
· DirectX 12 Frame Pacing: AMD’s support of multi-GPU DirectX 12 Frame Pacing enables smooth gameplay on Radeon Graphics by evenly distributing frame times and providing them at a more consistent rate, delivering an exceptional gaming experience
2. BF 1 brings the best of DirectX 12 to Radeon Gamers
AMD has worked closely with EA and DICE to optimize Battlefield 1, the first Frostbite Engine title to use DirectX 12, including support for Async Compute and multi-threaded rendering.
1 Testing conducted by AMD Performance Labs as of October 24th, 2016 on the 8GB Radeon RX 480 in multi-GPU or 8GB Radeon RX 480 in single-GPU, on a test system comprising of Intel i7 5960X CPU (3.0 GHz), 16GB DDR4-2666 Mhz system memory, Radeon Software Crimson Edition driver 16.10.2 and Windows 10 x64 using the game Deus Ex: Mankind Divided on the very-high preset. PC manufacturers may vary configurations, yielding different results. At 2560×1440, Radeon Software Crimson Edition driver 16.10.2 and 8GB Radeon RX 480 single-GPU running Deus Ex: Mankind Divided DirectX®12 scored 35, and Radeon Software Crimson Edition driver 16.10.2 and 8GB Radeon RX 480 multi-GPU running Deus Ex: Mankind Divided DirectX®12 scored 70, which is 100% faster performance. Performance may vary based on use of latest drivers. RS-83
