“Monster Performance” ASUS ZenFone 2 with 4GB RAM Retailing in Singapore from 16th May

Singapore, (18th April 2015) – Following the launch of the next generation ZenFone series on 14thApril, the ZenFone 2 will be available at all ASUS authorised stores, ASUS brand stores, ASUS official online store, M1 and StarHub shops from today onwards. Available models include the 2GB RAM models, namely the 5-inch ZE500CL, 5.5-inch ZE550ML and 5.5-inch ZE551ML. Both ZE500CL and ZE550ML come with a 1,280 x 800 HD display resolution with 16GB onboard storage, and will be retailing at S$249 and S$299 respectively. Retailing at S$349, the ZE551ML sports a sharper 1,920 x 1,080 Full HD display resolution with 32GB onboard storage. Last but not least, the ZenFone 2 flagship model which sport the world’s first 64-bit Intel® Atom™ with 4GB RAM and up to 64GB onboard storage will be available in Singapore from 16th May onwards. Similar to its sister models, the 5.5-inch flagship model sports a luxurious all-new ergonomically-curved design with ultra-slim edges, 1,920 x 1,080 Full HD IPS display resolution and a 72% screen-to-body ratio. The ZE551ML with 4GB RAM and 32GB onboard storage will be retailing from S$429 at all ASUS authorised stores, ASUS brand stores, ASUS official online store, M1 and StarHub shops in Singapore. On the other hand, the ZE551MLwith 4GB RAM and 64GB onboard storage will be retailing at S$499 at Singtel.
Empowering Luxury: A Game Changer in the Mobile Industry
Building on the global success of the first ASUS ZenFone, which sold over 1.5 million units in just a month in 2014, the ZenFone 2 premieres many evolved features, including a new version of ASUS ZenUI – which has the world’s first fully-customisable interface – and Trend Micro security software for safer web browsing. Furthermore, the ZenFone series clinched the Red Dot Design Award in 2014 for its exceptional degree of innovation, functionality and ergonomics by the Red Dot jury.
The ZenFone 2 bears the iconic ASUS concentric-circle design that adorns both the fascia and rear key, and has its rear cover crafted with an outstanding hairline metallic finish. Additionally, it introduces new and evolved aesthetic refinements, including a graceful curved case that tapers to an incredibly thin 3.9mm at the edges to lend it a bold yet elegant look. This design not only renders it extremely comfortable to hold, but easier to use as well. Now, snapping selfies, adjusting the volume and browsing the web are all within reach.
With a remarkably sharp and vivid IPS display, the ZenFone 2 boasts up to 403ppi pixel density and a wide 178-degree viewing angle, ensuring life-like photos and videos. The smartphone’s display is also bordered by an ultra-narrow 3.3mm bezel, giving it a 72% screen-to-body ratio for a maximised viewing experience. Furthermore, the ZenFone 2 uses Corning® Gorilla® Glass 3 with anti-fingerprint coating for superior resistance to damage and fingerprints, as well as to reduce friction by up to 30%.
The latest ZenFone 2 is available in both 2GB and 4GB RAM. The HD models, namely the 5-inch ZE500CL and 5.5-inch ZE550ML, sport a matte finishing in black, white and red colours. On the other hand, the Full HD model, namely the ZE551ML, sport a stunning aluminium hairline finishing in black, gold, red and silver colours.

Understanding the growing importance of smartphone cameras, camera performance of the ZenFone 2 has been redesigned to ensure greater performance especially in Auto, Low-Light and HDR modes. The ZenFone 2 has a unique PixelMaster camera with numerous distinctive modes. The industry-leading Low Light mode employs pixel-merging technology that is capable of capturing up to 400% brighter photos at night, or in low-light scenes, without the need for flash. The ZenFone 2 camera also has Backlight (HDR) mode to allow users capture vivid, evenly-exposed photos in challenging backlit scenes.
Boasting a 13MP rear-facing PixelMaster camera with an f/2.0 wide-aperture lens, ZenFone 2 is able to capture stunning, high-resolution photos with zero shutter lag. The ZenFone 2 is also equipped with up to a 5MP front-facing camera with a wide, 85-degree field of view perfectly engineered for taking selfies with real-time beautification. With the ZenUI Selfie Panorama mode and up to 140-degree field of view, capturing a group of friends or including scenery using the selfie mode is much simpler than before.

The ZenFone 2 models with 2GB RAM, namely ZE500CL, ZE550ML and ZE551ML, will be retailing at S$249, S$299 and S$349 respectively from today.
Known as the “Monster Performance Smartphone” and Singapore’s first smartphone with 4GB RAM, the ZE551ML models will be available from 16th May at S$429 and S$499 for the 32GB and 64GB models respectively.
