Lenovo YOGA Tablet 2’s New Mode Gives Users More Flexibility than Ever Before
Singapore – October 30, 2014: Lenovo (HKSE: 992) (ADR: LNVGY) today announced the availability of its latest devices that bring mobility to the next level, enabling users to work and play in brand new ways. Expanding on its popular YOGA line of tablets are the new YOGA Tablet 2 Pro, which redefines the tablet experience with the industry’s first integrated projector for tablets, and the YOGA Tablet 2 that gives users the choice of two screen sizes and two different operating systems (Android and Windows). The new YOGA tablets bring even more versatility with the addition of a new Hang mode. Another addition to the multimode line is the new YOGA 3 Pro, a 13” ultra slim convertible PC, that features an unbelievably thin and light frame with the extraordinary watchband hinge design, as well as a QHD+ screen.
“The products that we have launched today represent the culmination of a massive amount of research and feedback, designed with the intent of enabling the utmost in mobility and versatility with no compromises,” said Jessie Quek, Country General Manager, Lenovo Singapore. “We kept the best parts of the original YOGA Tablet – its fantastic battery life and multiple modes – and raised the bar with an additional mode as well as improved features such as the Pico projector on the YOGA Tablet 2 Pro. Also continuing with our design philosophy, the YOGA 3 Pro comes with an innovative new watchband hinge which makes the multimode even thinner, lighter and more outstanding than ever before.”
“Intel® continues to drive the evolution of the computing experience by bringing new technologies to market with our partners, like Lenovo. We would like to extend our congratulations to Lenovo on the launch of these exciting new devices,” said Sumner Lemon, Country Manager, Intel Malaysia and Singapore. “With our 4th Generation Intel® CoreTM processors, customers are spoiled for choice with a wide range of devices that offer amazing battery life, stunning graphics, touch screens, and a choice of beautiful, sleek and light designs. Intel-based 2 in 1s, like the Lenovo YOGA, are the best way to get a lot done in the shortest time.”
YOGA Tablet 2 Pro: Delivering a Mobile Big Screen Experience
More people are using tablets to consume the ever growing volume of digital media in their lives – photos, videos and games – and this has led to users demanding for bigger screens. A Lenovo research study found 88 percent of people are devouring large amounts of digital content on tablets at home, and more than half of them watch TV several times a week on their tablet. This insight together with users’ feedback led to the creation of the larger 13” screen YOGA Tablet 2 Pro media tablet. Designed from the ground up specifically for digitally-hungry consumers, it features a QHD 2560×1440 screen to deliver life-like images.
Whether presenting in a meeting to colleagues or lying at home watching a movie, the YOGA Tablet 2 Pro makes it easy to view and share content with its Pico projector. Users can project a 16:9 high resolution image onto any surface for an instant 50” theater experience. The YOGA Tablet 2 Pro also features an 8 watt sound system, including a subwoofer, which is quadruple the audio power of average tablets. Its dramatic video and audio prowess lets the device serve as a complete home theatre and entertainment package. It also comes with automatic adjustment, and users have up to three hours playback time before having to plug in the tablet. The Platinum-colored tablet remains slimmer than your average magazine at just 3.7mm thin and 950 grams, enabling impromptu performances anytime and anywhere.
YOGA Tablet 2: A New Mode to Entertain More
Similar to its predecessor the new YOGA Tablet 2 models focus on technology that adapts to users, making computing intuitive and fun. The tablet also comes in two operating systems – a 10” model with Windows and one year of free Office 365, as well as 8” and 10” models that come with Android 4.4 Kit Kat. Powered with the latest Intel® Atom™ processor multimedia, playback and rendering make the tablets great for multitaskers. Its dual, large-chamber speakers are front-facing for dynamic audio, while Dolby® Audio and Wolfson® Master HiFi™ ensure a multi-channel listening experience just like the movies. Sporting a number of useful features such as a Micro SD card slot and a micro USB with OTG connection that lets users charge their phone (requires separate cable), users can also enjoy extra-long battery life while staying mobile longer in any of its four modes. For complete online connectivity, all the Android models offer 4G, while the 8” Android version also offers the ability to make voice calls.
Designed for Choice
Building on the YOGA’s legacy of versatility through multiple usage modes, Lenovo has introduced a fourth mode to the new YOGA Tablets – Hang. Users can now interact with the tablets in a new way by hanging it anywhere they want. They can also continue to enjoy the other three original modes: Hold for better angles for reading, Tilt for easy browsing online, and Stand for close up content from digital libraries with the improved kickstand.
YOGA 3 Pro: The Phenomenal Watchband Hinge that Pushes the Boundary on Thin and Light
Pioneering innovative multimode devices, Lenovo’s YOGA Series has won a multitude of awards for its versatile and functional, yet eye-catching designs. Designed to push this philosophy even further, the new YOGA 3 Pro is by shaving 17 percent off its predecessor’s frame to just 12.8 mm thin – thinner than a pencil when opened. The PC is also 14 percent lighter at 1.19kg, weighing less than a bottle of water. This is only achieved with the new 6-hinge watchband design which consists of 813 precision-machined, hand-assembled pieces of steel and aluminum.
Offering users an excellent experience in any mode, the YOGA 3 Pro is built with durable Gorilla Glass with a QHD+ 3200×1800 display that looks amazing whatever the task. While videos look stunning, the multimode device makes them sound just as spectacular with premium JBL® speakers with Waves® Audio, which automatically adjusts the audio in each of the four modes so that when the speakers are not facing the user, the audio still sounds crisp and clear.
Equipped with up to a Intel® Core M™ processor, solid state drive storage up to 512 GB SSD and Intel integrated graphics, users can multitask at will and experience smooth video playback without lag with up to seven hours of battery life while staying connected via high-speed 802.11 a/c WiFi. Complementing the new watchband hinge design, the YOGA 3 Pro is available in three sensational colors: Clementine Orange, Platinum Silver and Champagne Gold.
Adaptive Software
To advance the concept of adaptive computing and complement the YOGA’s responsive hardware features, Lenovo created the Harmony software experience. Harmony gives YOGA owners a new way to discover applications and customize how they behave when used. For example, when reading an e-book, Harmony will automatically change the brightness and color temperature according to the environment lighting.
Harmony also recommends apps which other YOGA owners find useful and provides a handy shortcut to the apps used most frequently in each mode.
